  • minor : someone under legal age, which is generally 18, except for certain purposes such as drinking alcoholic beverages.
  • manslaughter : the unlawful killing of another person without premeditation or so-called "malice aforethought" (an evil intent prior to the killing).
  • misdemeanor : a lesser crime punishable by a fine and/or county jail time for up to one year.

  • maim : to inflict a serious bodily injury, including mutilation or any harm which limits the victim's ability to function physically.
  • malfeasance : intentionally doing something either legally or morally wrong which one had no right to do.
  • mistrial : the termination of a trial before its normal conclusion because of a procedural error, statements by a witness, judge or attorney which prejudice a jury.
  • moot : unsettled, open to argument or debatable, specifically about a legal question which has not been determined by any decision of any court.
