  • liver : anterior to the pancreas, gallbladder and biliary tract, portal venous system, aorta, ivc, and kidneys. descriptively divided into right and left lobes.
  • gallbladder : intraperitoneal. descriptive divisions are the neck, body, and fundus
  • pancreas : anterior to the portal venous system, common bile duct, and ivc. retroperitoneal. horizontal oblique orientation. descriptively composed of a head, uncinate process, neck, body, and tail.
  • kidneys : bilateral; vertical oblique orientation. directly anterior to the quadratus lumborum and psoas major muscles.
  • uterus : an organ of the female pelvis. descriptively divided into the fundus, body, and cervix.
